Outsourced strategic finance for healthcare practices
Outsourced strategic finance for healthcare practices.
Build the finance capability your practice needs without building an internal finance department. Pinnacle connects reporting, forecasting, cash planning, profitability analysis, and executive decision support so leadership can act on evidence instead of instinct.
Three levels of support
Choose the level of financial accountability your next stage requires.
The right service depends on the reliability of the accounting foundation, the frequency and consequence of the decisions ahead, and whether Pinnacle is interpreting the work of an existing accounting team or coordinating the broader finance function. Exact scope, cadence, and data readiness are confirmed before engagement.
01 · Foundational visibility
Financial Visibility
Decision-ready KPIs, rolling 13-week cash visibility, monthly financial interpretation, and one executive finance session each month. Best for established practices with clean books and an existing accounting team.
02 · Ongoing decision support
Strategic Finance
Everything in Financial Visibility, plus rolling forecasts, budget-to-actual management, provider and service-line profitability, and active support for hiring, capacity, and expansion decisions. The current service design includes two executive finance sessions each month.
03 · Coordinated finance function
Finance Department
Everything in Strategic Finance, plus Pinnacle-managed bookkeeping and close, controller-level oversight, weekly cash visibility, advanced scenarios, board and lender packages, MSO/PC and multi-entity reporting, and priority executive access within the agreed scope.
What Pinnacle is—and is not
Clear responsibilities, whether Pinnacle complements or coordinates the finance team.
Pinnacle can work alongside your existing accounting team or coordinate a full-service outsourced Finance Department. The engagement is designed to connect accurate records to forward-looking management decisions without blurring professional responsibilities.
Accounting foundation
Accurate transactions, reconciliations, close, and financial records remain the foundation. An existing bookkeeper or accounting team can retain that role, or Pinnacle can coordinate managed bookkeeping and close when Finance Department is the agreed service.
Strategic finance
Pinnacle provides management reporting, cash planning, budgets, rolling forecasts, profitability analysis, scenarios, controls, and executive interpretation tied to the decisions leadership must make.
CPA and specialist work
Tax returns and tax opinions, audit or attest opinions, legal advice, clinical decisions, coding determinations, valuations, investment advice, and regulatory conclusions remain with the appropriately qualified professional.
Professional boundary: Pinnacle may coordinate with the client’s CPA, attorney, tax advisor, coding or revenue-cycle specialist, valuation professional, lender, or other advisor and connect their work to the finance plan. Each professional remains responsible for conclusions within their licensed or technical scope, and client leadership remains responsible for operating and clinical decisions.
One connected operating view
The numbers should help you run the practice—not just report on it.
Pinnacle links the historical accounting record to the financial questions that shape staffing, provider capacity, service lines, locations, equipment, capital, and sustainable growth.
Cash and commitments
See near-term cash movement, collections timing, working-capital pressure, debt and capital commitments, and the reserve needed for a planned decision.
Provider and service-line economics
Connect productivity, capacity, compensation, reimbursement, direct cost, and contribution margin at the level supported by the source data.
Forecasts and scenarios
Compare base, downside, and upside assumptions, identify the inputs that materially change the answer, and define practical pause or proceed thresholds.
Executive follow-through
Translate the analysis into a decision, named owner, timing, and financial signal that leadership can monitor through the next review cycle.
Healthcare-specific pathways
Strategic finance shaped around the organization and decision.
Independent and physician-owned practices
Cash flow, provider economics, payer performance, staffing, margins, and growth decisions for established owner-led practices.
Anesthesia and cardiology groups
Specialty-specific support for coverage, capacity, provider and service-line economics, equipment, facility relationships, and cash timing.
MSO/PC and multi-entity organizations
Entity and consolidated reporting, shared-cost and intercompany visibility, cash oversight, management accountability, and governance.
Start with the decision
Give the next consequential decision a clearer financial foundation.
Use the Cash Clarity Tool to explore one visible cash-flow question, or request a private conversation to determine which level of strategic-finance support fits the practice.
